Breitling SuperOcean Rose Gold U17320 review

What’s up watch people and as always, welcome back to the channel. Now, today we’ve got an absolute banger for you, and it is indeed this Breitling Superocean Heritage Watch that holds the reference code U17320.

Alright, so First things first, let’s take a quick look at what we actually get with the watch in the box. So as you can see here, it comes with the old style packaging with the large cardboard outer box that houses the inner leatherette travel style case, which you don’t get anymore, and underneath this we’ve got the instruction manual, the Chronometer Certificate, International Warranty booklet, the Electronic International Warranty Card, and also a nice rubber strap, which is a nice addition if you want to change things up, so you do actually get quite a lot with this watch.

As for the specs of the watch, it is of course an automatic piece. That weighs in at a beefy 46 millimetre in diameter, with a lug width of 24 millimetres and a thickness of 13.6 millimetres. So it’s big watch, overall good for those larger wrists. Or if you like me and prefer a watch, this a bit more oversized.

So taking a deeper look at the watch, starting with the dial, we’ve got a lovely deep black dial that really helps to bring out those flecks of rose gold from the other company and features on there as well as from the bezel. Now there is actually quite a lot of wording on the dial, but not in the way where it makes it feel too crowded. I think it does still look quite simplistic overall. I do quite like the Applied Rose Gold Breitling to be at the 12:00 position and have always been a big fan of the style of writing used for the Superocean wording on these watches. I just think it makes it stand out that little bit more. And very neatly placed too we’ve got a quick change date window at the 6:00 position, staying really nicely aligned with everything else on the dial.

Now, for me the applied rose gold hands and indices, on this watch are a thing with beauty. They really do give the dial and lovely glisten of colour and really tie the bezel and the dial together nicely. However, in the dark they do become quite difficult to see but Breitling have sorted us out here. They’ve added a lovely white minute track around the outside, as you can see, and we’ve got quite sizable lume dots at the hour markers and personally I think this is a really lovely touch.

Now moving on to the bezel, we’ve got a uni directional rose gold bezel that surrounded by stainless steel teeth. And I love this design because it makes the bezel so much easier to grip and just looks great, in my opinion, ’cause it helps to tone down all of that gold.

Case wise we’ve got a very highly polished case finish where the lugs are beautifully smoothed off and expose that thick spring bar of the Chainmail bracelet. And on the crown side of the case we’ve got a lovely polished easy group crown that’s surrounded by the same style teeth that are on the bezel, and again that Breitling B is there really tying in the watch a whole.

On to the bracelet, we’ve got a polished mesh style bracelet which I think is absolutely perfect for this watch if it’s just all of the watch so well and makes it look so much more expensive. There’s a lot more intricacy with this bracelet compared to just the standard steel one. And surprisingly, it’s very comfortable to wear as it contorts around the wrist very well. And fitted onto the bracelet, we’ve got a secure deployment clasp that’s decorated really nicely with the Breitling logos.

And finally we’ve got the case back, now on this case back it is again a very high polished finish, fitting in with the rest of the watch and on here you can find all of the usual engravings such as the water resistance and the reference codes.
