About The Watch Village

CHAPTER ONE

THE BEGINNING

Unlike most of the “big boys” in the industry, we don’t have tens of years of heritage behind us (yet) so we can’t really brag about that. But what we can brag about is the fact that we are a small family run business, fuelled by a passion for watches and a desire to make our presence known in the watch world.

Our business sprouted from a hobby in 2017, whereby once upon a time we had accumulated a large personal collection of watches and decided that the collection needed thinning out. With much heartbreak we re-homed our watches, but actually enjoyed doing so in the process. Seeing the joy that a beautiful watch could bring to a new owner really filled us with energy and from there we kinda got hooked.

At the time I was fresh out of uni and sick of working a dead end job. I was at a point in my life where I knew I needed more. The energy that I got from selling watches and making people happy filled me with even more desire to break free. So I used this opportunity to re-invest all of the money back into watches (typical, right) but this time with the intention of selling for profit and setting up my own business.

As with all businesses we worked hard to get this baby off the ground and haven’t looked back since. We have put many smiles on people’s faces, got to experience some beautiful watches and met some awesome people along the way. It’s been the best ride of our lives.

CHAPTER TWO

THE BUILD UP: 2017-2020

After 3 years of non stop watch dealing experience under our belts we could safely say that we knew our stuff! After all, Malcom Gladwell did say that it only takes 10,000 hours to become a master of your trade, and by now we’d already reached over 30,000 hours. At this point we realised that our specialism was going to be as an online retailer, selling only pre-owned watches from the more luxurious brands such as Rolex, Breitling, TAG Heuer and Omega.

During these build up years, we had not only acquired a great deal of knowledge and expertise within the watch world but had also created a banging network of people around us. By this point we had made connections with various offsite technicians, which enable us to have our stock professionally inspected, serviced and cleaned. This gave us some much needed freed up time to focus our attention elsewhere and plan for the future!

Towards the end of 2020 we had big dreams in sight. But then COVID hit.

CHAPTER THREE

THE EXPANSION: 2021-2022

As for most of us, COVID put our big dreams on hold. But despite this, the business still continued to get stronger and stronger. We used this time to further experiment with other watch brands and really hammered down on some of the weaker aspects of the business.

After thankfully surviving lockdown and Brexit, the business was ready to move into its shiny new home at end of 2021 at Dunston Business Village, Staffordshire. Yes, thats right, we got physical!

Why? Well, as our brand portfolio was expanding, so was our customer base and the prices of our watches. We knew that it was important to start providing customers with a base where they can come and visit us to see the watches in the flesh and interact with us, and we’ve loved meeting each and every person since!

Jen, who runs the business is an excellent communicator with customer service values that are second to none - distance buying is always a gamble but the quality of service and care that the team at The Watch Village provided, gave me the confidence to place the order, extra pictures, a bespoke up close video and a chat on the phone helped me decide to place the order.   First class service, watch was delivered very quickly & exactly as described. All questions answered & I was very confident to place order without viewing the watch.
Emails answered within a reasonable time, but please remember that as a small company that offers a personal service an instant response is not always practical.

So where actually is The Watch Village? You can find us on Dunston Business Village, Staffordshire, ST18 9AB, where we operate from a small appointment only showroom. You are more than welcome to come and view any of the watches that we have for sale in our shop.

THE HOUSE RULES

All viewings must go through the official booking system by pressing the button below and submitting the contact form.
We ask for at least 24 hours notice prior to viewing, but if your viewing is urgent please call us on 01785450287 and we will try our best to accommodate you.
No stock is kept on site, so please let us know which watch(es) you wish to view in advance.
Our viewing hours are 10:00-18:00 Monday-Friday and 09:00-13:00 Weekends. If you require an appointment time outside of these hours, please specify this in the contact form and we will try out best to accommodate you.
Appointments are conducted on a 1-1 basis. Meaning only 1 customer per time in the showroom, with exchange of ID.
